- US7 (4.5 mm) knitting needles (Either flat or circular needles will work)
- 85 yds (78 m) worsted weight yarn, preferably 100% cotton
- Tapestry needle
- Crochet hook (optional)

Knit Picks – Dishie
100% Cotton yarn
190 yds (174 m)/ 3.5 oz (100 g)
16 stitches by 18 rows in garter stitch = 4”/ 10 cm on US7 (4.5 mm) metal needles, unblocked. While gauge is not important, changes in gauge will result in size differences and the amount of yarn needed to complete the project.
9.5”/24 cm wide by 9.5”/24 cm in length, but adjustable should a different size be required.
K2tog: Knit 2 stitches together.
M1L: From the front, lift the horizontal strand between stitches with the left needle. Knit through the back loop
M1R: From the back, lift the horizontal strand between stitches with the left needle. Knit through the front loop.
Sl1-k2tog-psso: Slip one stitch knitwise, then knit 2 stitches together and pass the slipped stitch over.
Ssk: Slip 2 stitches knitwise, then knit slipped stitches together through the back loops.
Yo: Wrap the working yarn over the right needle, from front to back (counter-clockwise).
Using your preferred cast-on, cast on 5 stitches.
Row 1 (RS): K2, m1r, k1, m1l, k2. (7 total stitches)
Row 2 (WS): Knit across row.
Row 3: K2, M1R, knit to last 2 stitches, M1L, k2. (2 stitches increased)
Row 4: Knit across row.
Rows 5-48: Repeat rows 3-4 twenty-two more times. (53 total stitches)
Row 49: K2, ssk, knit to last 4 stitches, k2tog, k2. (2 stitches decreased)
Row 50: Knit across row.
Rows 51-94: Repeat rows 49-50 twenty-two more times. (7 total stitches)
Row 95: K2, sl1-k2tog-psso, k2. (5 total stitches)
Row 96: Knit across row.
Bind off your stitches using your preferred bind-off. If desired, do not cut your yarn and single crochet 15 chains to make a little loop for hanging your dishcloth. With your tapestry needle, weave in all your ends.
