Afternoon Tea

$7.00

Afternoon Tea draws its inspiration from the whimsical world of the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party, a scene immortalized in the pages of Alice in Wonderland. This sock pattern is a delightful homage to that enchanting gathering. Adorned with a graceful interplay of intricate cables and delicate eyelets, it embodies the spirit of curiosity and imagination that define Wonderland itself. Just as Alice ventured into a realm of fantastical tea parties and eccentric characters, so too will your needles bring forth a tangible creation that bridges reality and fantasy. Each stitch is a nod to the curious, a tribute to the extraordinary, and a reminder that in the realm of knitting, the ordinary can become a portal to the extraordinary.

Description

Worked in the round, Afternoon Tea contains both cuff-down and toe-up written directions and a chart for the pattern stitch. The pattern has instructions for a peasant heel (afterthought heel using scrap yarn), but you may substitute whatever heel you enjoy using (links included for alternatives).

The pattern is written for the magic loop method for knitting socks; however, the design could be worked on double-pointed needles or mini-circulars instead should you prefer (ensure you denote your instep stitches with extra markers – so you don’t miss the placement of the heel or toe shaping).

This pattern is available in our Standard formatting. Low-visibility and screen-reader-accessible versions of this pattern are available with this pattern purchase. The low-visibility format is 24pt print in Arial, black font, no italics, and contains written directions (there are no charts to work from). The screen reader format has all the items mentioned above, contains no abbreviations, and accessibility was checked by the read-aloud function on both a Windows PC and Android device.
