PATTERN INFO

Back to Basics: Socks – Worked in the round, Back to Basics: Socks contains both cuff-down and toe-up written. The pattern has instructions for an afterthought heel, but you may substitute whatever heel you enjoy using.

The pattern is written for the magic loop method for knitting socks; however, the design could be worked on double-pointed needles or mini-circulars instead should you prefer.

6 [6.5, 7, 7.5, 8, 8.5, 9]” / 15 [16.5, 18, 19, 20.5, 21.5, 23] cm circumference. The sample shown was knit using the toe-up version of this pattern on 64-sts.

SUGGESTED NEEDLES

US1 (2.25 mm) 32-40” (82-102 cm) circular needles, or size required to obtain gauge.

Tapestry needle, scrap yarn, stitch markers

YARN REQUIREMENTS

200-500 yds / 183-458 m fingering weight yarn (depending on the length of your foot and leg)
