Ghostwriting – Turning Your Knitting Dreams into Reality!

You’ve got an amazing idea for a knitting pattern dancing in your head, but you just can’t seem to get it down on paper. Or maybe you’ve started writing it, but life has thrown you a few curveballs and you can’t find the time to finish. Perhaps you’ve already knit your beautiful sample, but you’re unsure about the next steps. Or, you might be a talented yarn dyer dreaming of offering patterns, but unsure how to include them into your business. Don’t fret, my friend – a ghostwriter is here to help!

As a ghostwriter, I specialize in ghostwriting knitting patterns for accessories, such as scarves, hats, mittens, shawls, cowls, and socks. So, let’s work together to bring your knitting vision to life!

What You Can Expect from Ghostwriting:

When you entrust me with your idea, I will make sure the pattern feels like your own creation. Here’s what you’ll receive:
  • A pattern that adheres to your style sheet, as if you had crafted it yourself.
  • Graded patterns for many sizes (if applicable), including yardage requirements for each size.
  • A pattern that has been reviewed by my technical editor for grading and technical accuracy.
  • Included charts, schematics, and written directions as necessary.
  • A ready-to-test pattern, saving you time and effort!
From start to finish, the ghostwriting process takes approximately 3-4 weeks. The cost depends on the project type, the number of sizes you’d like to include, and the pattern complexity. This can range from $200-600 per design. This includes all the services mentioned above.

Extra Services for Added Convenience:

Want to make your knitting pattern even more accessible and user-friendly? I offer more services to help you out:

  • Accessibility formatting: Low-Visibility and Screen-reader-accessible versions of the pattern, expanding your reach in the knitting community.
  • Drafting the pattern on Ravelry – all you’ll have to do is press “publish”!
  • Managing the test knitting process. This adds an extra 4-8 weeks to the turnaround time, as testers need time to work up the pattern.

Communication – I’m Here for You!

I pride myself on being quick to respond to your questions and providing the support you need. My goal is to make the process as seamless as possible, offering feedback and conversation about your design as needed. My office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 12:00 pm MST. Feel free to email me anytime, but please understand that responses outside of my office hours may be delayed until the next business day. Rest assured, I’m happy to email you as often as you need throughout the entire process.

So, let’s get those knitting needles clicking and bring your creative ideas to life! I can’t wait to work with you!
