Anita

$8.50

Step into the empowering world of Anita with our sock pattern inspired by the iconic character portrayed by Rita Moreno in West Side Story. Anitaโ€™s unwavering resolve against discriminatory lyrics serves as a powerful symbol of empowerment, inspiring us to challenge norms and advocate for justice. Just as Anita transformed the fabric of the songs she performed, this pattern celebrates individuals who fearlessly stand up for their beliefs. Itโ€™s a tribute to those who break down barriers and champion righteousness, a reminder of the importance of courage and resilience in the face of adversity. Join us in honouring the legacy of empowerment through the art of knitting with the Anita sock pattern.

Worked in the round, Anita contains both cuff-down and toe-up written directions and a chart for the pattern stitch. The pattern has instructions for a peasant heel (afterthought heel using scrap yarn), but you may substitute whatever heel you enjoy using (links included for alternatives).

The pattern is written for the magic loop method for knitting socks; however, the design could be worked on double-pointed needles or mini-circulars instead should you prefer (ensure you denote your instep stitches with extra markers โ€“ so you donโ€™t miss the placement of the heel or toe shaping).
