Brick & Mortar

$8.50

Introducing Brick & Mortar, a sock pattern that effortlessly blends simplicity with charm, reminiscent of ancient brick structures adorned with tiny windows. Its intuitive design coordinates seamlessly with self-striping yarn, offering endless possibilities for creativity. Whether crafted with mini-skeins or leftover scraps, alternating colours every 7 or 14 rounds creates an enthralling effect that captivates the eye.

While rated as easy, Brick & Mortar warmly welcomes adventurous beginners, providing informative links for a precise fit and guidance on selecting the perfect sock yarn. Step into the world of sock knitting with confidence and creativity, as Brick & Mortar guides you through an enchanting journey of stitches and stripes.

Worked in the round, Brick & Mortar contains both cuff-down and toe-up written directions and a chart for the pattern stitch. The pattern has instructions for a peasant heel (afterthought heel using scrap yarn), but you may substitute whatever heel you enjoy using (links included for alternatives).

The pattern is written for the magic loop method for knitting socks; however, the design could be worked on double-pointed needles or mini-circulars instead should you prefer (ensure you denote your instep stitches with extra markers โ€“ so you donโ€™t miss the placement of the heel or toe shaping).
